Got a Tec arc 211 (been fantastic for about 5 years).
I have just changed the wire (o.8mm) and am having problems with the wire not feeding smoothly, if I try and weld I can see the wire almost pulsating and then burning back and sometimes sticking to the tip - and obviously not producing good welds.
I have set the tension as per the guidelines on here, and is about the same tension as before.
I have changed the liner in case that was the problem but no difference. When the wire was feeding through the new liner it wasn't running nice and freely straight away, so pretty sure the liner isn't the issue.
It seems to me the spool/drum (15kg) isn't turning smoothly, I have done the nut up which holds the spool on just so it stops the spool from unwinding - the nut is barely making contact with the spool.
Wire is coming from the top of the spool, and the wire guide wheel is on 0.8mm groove.
Any ideas?
