Reminds me of one of the first 'special' tools I ever made: the concentric socket/ screwdriver for adjusting the carbs on old Suzuki bikes
Essentially you weld a buckshee 10mm 3/8" drive socket to a length of thick-wall 10mm tube. The other end of the tube gets filed to a 8mm hex so you can get a spanner on it and a long-shaft flat-blade screwdriver is passed down the centre.
Apply socket to carb locknut, slacken with spanner on other end of tube, twiddle screw through the locknut until the mercury gauge is where you want it then hold screw while tightening locknut.
Repeat for other cylinders, replace fuel tank, go for thrash
I gave up with all of that malarkey when I fitted a big single SU on my GS850.
