Hi,
I am not a professional welder but have a hobby business making small metal objects.Part of the process requires 6mm nuts welded on to tubing with a 2mm wall thickness.
I bought an SWP 220 almost a year ago.
I can weld for hours without the duty cycle cutting in, I think because the welding takes ten seconds and set up time for the next one is also about ten seconds giving it time to keep cool.
Yesterday I got half the batch welded when it stopped. It did it once before a few months back but seemed to sort itself out. I gave it time to cool but it would weld for a few seconds and stop. I started again this morning and it welded fine for twenty minutes and stopped again. When it comes back on it goes for three to five seconds and stops again.
In the past it would have sailed through this work. If it is the duty cycle why is it cutting in now when it hasn't in the past?
I'm cheesed off , can anyone help please?
Andy.
