It's a £5 water filter, people use it for deionising water. It might be dangerous to use for air though as the pressures and pressure characteristics are different.@rcx132 great job so far! do you have details of that drier please? Or is it something you made? If so where did you get the main canister?
Cheers
Looks like a good fun project!New exhaust mounts using home made stainless spacers thanks to my handy friend and his lathe...
I've never had a car with such clean drums!...
Got as far as I could with the body off:
Finally, last night, I reunited the body with the chassis! Body was craned over the chassis. One thing I've learnt is that once the body is on the chassis to carefully raise it slightly while keeping it perfectly parallel to the chassis. This lets the body align or "relieve" itself in relation to the chassis so it sits straight and the rubbers are not strained and the bolts are not rubbing through the rubbers.
Getting on with assembly,
I did look at galvanising the chassis, but it's a very lightweight chassis so didn't want to risk warping. The biggest thing going for Vitara is that they have very good road handling and I was worried that even slight warping would mess that up.looks great,a lot of thought gone into what you have done, did you ever think of getting the chassis galvanised ? what type of finish did you opt for on the underside of the body shell? keep up the posts ,interesting to see what others are up too.
Afraid not. The engine is very low mileage as I found a low mileage donor car, so it doesn't need any work and I'd rather move onto my next project. I might though fit a Suzuki Swift head as it's twin cam and there are tuned cams avavailble for the Swift. The engine is same family as the swift so the swift head is a direct fit.Are you also planning to make the engine any shinier?
I know ツ But got to draw the line somewhere! Originally this was supposed to be just a mini project to stop the rust spreading, but it all got carried away.I only asked because the rest of the car is freshly painted/plated/coated and buffed
