modern petrol is a twerp when it gets wet, ethanol ( dry ) will mix with petrol. problem is ethanol like water, wet ethanol dosent blend with petrol and drops out of solution.
as for some engines being 97 ron only like golf ed30's pushing them hard on a hot day all of sudden you'd swear a coil pach has gone ecu compensates for the knock but after so much it just shuts the motor down feels like a rev limiter but way to low.
Ethanol is at its happest at 96ish%, higher% and it will pull moisture from the atmosphere to bri g it back down to 96%.
So all fuel with ethanol added will have a small percentage of water, possibly upto 4%.... No they wouldn't dream of selling us water....would they
