Hi Everyone,
I have an issue with my Clarke Mig 130EN Turbo where the wire feed stutters and the welder seems to lack penetration, though the lack of penetration might just be a consequence of a poor wire feed.
Would appreciate any help you might be able to offer.
I've been scouring the forum and found loads of things to try but so far nothing has solved the problem.
To try and summarise what I've tried so far:
Wire Feed
- Removed motor from wire feed but still powered from the welder and the problem was still present
- Removed motor and tested using an external power supply and the motor ran fine
Main Board
- Cleaned contacts on the PCB mounted 12V relay
- Replaced the Encapsulated transformer on the PCB
- Checked for any dry joints
Rectifier
My multimeter doesn't have a diode mode but in resistance mode the diodes all appeared to be functioning correctly.
Other
- Unsure if relevant but I measured the voltage across the torch and earth clamp without trigger pressed and it was reading 13V...not sure there should be any voltage when trigger isn't pressed?? With trigger pressed the voltage varied from 20v - 34v depending on power settings.
I was erring towards dodgy diodes until they all seemed to test OK today so have now ordered a new TYN608 Thyristor and a KSP42 Transistor to replace those on the PCB but i'm really clutching at straws now.
All suggestions welcome
