I also like to work with current, as a mig is sold as 300 amp machine, not a 29 volt machine.Dead right Om
Current is a variable on a Mig controled by wire speed and stickout.
I do like to work in current when talking Mig with regards to how much is needed for welding on certain thicknesses and joints but ultimately as you say we set volts and wire speed and the current will be what it is.
