Hi all, Been digging away at my new (1975) mini over this weekend. I was told if I were to do the structural repairs I needed to put bracing in the doorway to stop the shell twisting. Trouble is there's nothing solid to put the bracing between. I've had to cut out all of the door pillar up to bottom of windscreen height. I have had to cut back the front half of the inner wing and will replace with a repair panel. I daren't cut back any further than the shock mount to retain as much structural rigidity as possible. I have left the sills well alone until I have finished the front end so I can at least do a bit of bracing. I have left it on all four wheels with as little weight in as possible. Is there anything else I can do to stop it twisting and how likely is it to happen. the floorpan is actually in pretty good order as is the bulkhead and middle crossmember. A few holes in the actual footwell but nothing major!
so, Any ideas?
