Evening all , I need to do some more spraying , nothing fancy . A couple of years ago I bought some Viterlac ACV TCL single pack quick drying Alkyd Gloss finish . Along with some NCL type 2 solvent / thinners . It was bought from a professional supplier , it’s really just like a smooth black gloss enamel
Now I’m not pro painter or anything like , I had a load of box section that I grey zinc primed then top coated with the paint mentioned . Finish was bang on , no complaints or runs , good coverage , using an air sprayer .
What did query me was i did it in the height of a very dry spell and the frames sat outside for two weeks drying / curing , and it took a good four or 5 days to become safe to handle ie no finger prints left from handling . I used probably 5 to 10 % thinners to aid spraying .
I’ve got some pieces I sprayed at the same time knocking about and they are cured nicely , as you would expect after 2 years .
Now my question is , I’ve got to get some frames done this week , and trays for the want of a better way of describe them , but worried about the cure / hardening time especially now with the humidity / temperature changing .
Is there a way to improve this , ie the hardening , or am I looking at changing to another ? It is a mares rate project so I don’t have masses of money to throw at it , or safety gear so I am guessing that 2 pac systems are a no go . Plus I only need about a litre , which I have plenty off the 1pac left .
Cheers in advance
