I am looking at buying a good quality second hand mig or maybe a portamig if I can save up enough mainly for car work with the occasional need for welding thicker stuff.
Some of the welders I have been looking at have spot and stitch features and was wondering if they useful or not worth bothering with.
Some years ago my welder had a spot timer but never used it as I found it easier and a lot stronger to punch a hole through the top piece of metal and plug weld it.
I am not sure what the difference is between a spot timer and a stitch timer so would be grateful for any information especially from anyone with a mig that has the features and if they are actually used.
Thanks.
