ABS is better for about 90% of drivers because it will do a better job of braking than they can, for the other 10% who can drive properly it's a hindrance.Whats wrong with taking advantage of newer tech?
You know like ABS, traction control, power steering, servo brakes etc etc.
Yes drive well is great. Better tyres is just an extra.
Traction control can be handy but I'd sooner have better tyres on the car instead.
Power steering removes far too much feel from the steering wheel, I'd take a car that's harder to park but has more steering feedback any day.
Servo brakes are nice but again many are far to sensitive, I prefer much less assistance and a heavier pedal, my bosses citroen van is terrible for this, you only have to think about using the brakes and your head is slammed into the windscreen.
I've owned cars in the past with all of the above "aids" (3 series beemer) and to be honest I prefer driving an older car with none of them, I just feel more connected to the actual driving.
