I needed to remove these 2 M4 screws that had snapped off in the aluminium terminal box of a motor.
Due to their small size my only option was to use the tig so I set it up & built up a mound on each stud.
I'd like to say it went perfectly but the stud was spitting & wrecked the tungsten a few times. I resorted to giving it a good blast with the mapp gas blow torch which burnt off the contaminants & made it weld ok.
Once I had something to grip I removed the stud with vice grips.
Easy enough job but it would be extremely difficult without the tig welder. It did highlight the need to get my tig outfit installed on a trolley or bench - it took longer to set it up than to do the welding!
