Hi folks,
I can weld and am familiar with car bodywork and fabrication but I've never made such structure before.
Here is a pic of what I have that I'm in the process of demolishing and a wee sketch of what I'd like to make in its place.
My plan is to dig down 1metre as I'm on clay soil and sink vertical steel beams in concrete, then clad the walls in tin and use insulated tin on the roof to help avoid condensation. I'll insulate the walls with rockwool and then 4mm ply inside. 1 swinging door. It can't be any taller or the garden won't get any sunlight. I'll sort the floor later (when budget allows)
My budget is 3.5k total so don't think I can afford full on foundations/raft base.
So!!! should the skeleton be made from I beams or C section?
What size/thickness do these need to be?
Can I use top hat stuff on the skeleton to fix the sheets to, if so what spacing of these for the roof sheets?
I'll have time to get on with it very soon so need to get my **** in gear.
