Hi all
I have been reading the stories here about SIP problems and i purchased the SIP Weldmate T150P Gas Mig Welder last year before i found this website. I am a compitent welder but i am struggling to use this set, It just dont feel right, my heart sank when i am reading that these sets in the range are useless..
I was thinking of maybee carrying out the upgrades mentioned in other posts but the other half of me is saying sell it and buy a better welding machine.
I work as a mechanical engineering fitter and do some welding and fabrication in work and i have no problems there, I understand that car bodywork is harder to weld as its thin and welding at different angles etc.
Anyway
I payed £250 for the set last year (aktive trading) and i have a Argon sheild BOC bottle and weldquip sold me a regulator too. Obviously i need to keep the bottle and regulator i also have spare reels of 0.6 and 0.8 wire and spare tips.
Ok can anyone recommend me a decent welder for welding my car restoration bodywork i use the set for (plug/button welding i think its called) and also welding new platework into the car too.
What do you guys recon or what set would suit me for a similair price maybee i could push to £350 if im gonna get much better results than a SIP is giving me.
Also do any sets have the ability of spot welding or am i dreaming here for that kind of money i did see spot welding attachments for arc welding sets.
Thankyou for your time
Leigh
