Hi there,
New to the forum and this is my first post outside of introductions so I thought I'd dive straight in and hopefully I've put this in the correct section. Apologies if not.
I've got an SIP P188 with the pulse function and I would very much like to mod it to accept a current control foot pedal.
I'm by no means a professional welder at all and my background is more from an electronics environment but I do love welding various little projects that I get involved with. However having used a foot pedal in the past on other welders I really miss it and would like it on the P188.
I stripped down the set last night and just with a basic look inside it seems quite doable with a nice bulkhead connector round the back of the set and a switch for local or remote.Perhaps others have tried it already?
Thing is that after having tried Google and both my local supplier and SIP themselves I cannot track down a proper circuit diagram for the thing, only a relatively useless block diagram in the owners manual.SIP even told me that they don't have a circuit diagram for that model themselves.
I'm assuming that's SIP code for "No! you can't have it."
I don't really need the diagram for the foot pedal mod but I have got a few other mods planed for it in the future and the diagram will be essential for them.
So I guess I'm hoping some of you guy's may be able to point me in the right direction for getting hold of a detailed circuit diagram with component values etc.I could get the meter and the scope out and plod through it all board at a time but that's a terrible chore that I would really like to avoid if possible.
Anyway enough from me and all the very best
O.T.
