Hi . New to mig welding . Usually use an old oil cooled welder for most of my stuff . My son is just starting to restore a mini . Lots of rust so lots of panels to plug weld back and lots of patches to fit .
A friend yesterday donated an old mig . It's a sip 120 ideal . It's about 33 years old . Few issues ... tip is broken off the torch and held on with tape . The voltage selector is not moving at all. There is no regulator for the gas . The feed is working . I'm just wondering is it worth spending money on to get it going ? I don't imagine a torch and voltage selector will cost a fortune but would I be better investing in a new one ? Am I likely to encounter more problems in the near future with such an old machine ? Thanks in advance for any help .
