Hello Gents, like many others on this forum I am looking for some guidance. I have read lots of things on this site and others, spoken to people who use MIG welders and studied welder specifications.
I had made up my mind that the model listed above was the thing to get for a number of reasons. It has a low bottom current. It can be used in gas or gasless modes (at extra cost). It's not the cheapest of the cheap. It's turbo cooled.
I will be using it for car body and chassis work, yes the car is old enough to have a separate chassis, maximum probably 3mm thick, This is a DIY project so the welder will only get intermittent low usage.
I am fairly proficient with arc welding and have used an industrial sized MIG welder at work but I think its bottom current is about 60 amps.
So, that's the story so far. I would be grateful for any comments guidance or any thing else that you knowledgeable people can give me.
Thanks and regards Nick
