Thought some of you may be interested in this, as i was asking about powder coat finishes a while back.
It ended up that the parts went all the way to germany for powder coat, and then back to me for printing!
(so they were cut here, to germany for powder coat, back here for print, and will be returning to germany next week for retail around the world???)
Anyway....
Parts as i sent them off (non-anodised aluminum) -
Parts are they came back -
Screen exposed -
And now parts printed, in 2 part ink -
There's about three times more than the amount in this photo (hardly industrial quantities, but its only the first run) -
Given the bother that had gone into these parts prior to hitting them with ink, i was a little concerned as to wastage, but suffered only one single "loss" - and that was the one i discovered after id washed down the screen etc (so not a printing error, just an organisational error!)
The ink was selected by sending substrate samples to a large ink company for scratch testing so im confident that these will be about as durable as is possible (ive seen commercial products before where you can scrape the ink off with your fingernail due to ink / substrate mismatch)
All in all pretty pleased with the result. Next job is dual colour, which has all the additional complications that go along with it.
