Decided to knock up a Sheet Metal brake today as I need to make a few boxes to finish unfinished projects. I'm making this up as I go along from what I have seen on the web but come to a Design conundrum. The top clamping bar (not sure of the name) has quite a bull nose to it so I'm thinking of chamfering it so its a sharp profile where it meets the sheet metal. I take it this profile is the critical bit and dictates the bend profile so should it be a very sharp profile or slightly rounder?
Pic below, as you can see if I stick with it as is I'm going to end up with a large radius bend and i'm looking for nice tight folds on 1.5mm-2mm Mild steel. I'm using 8mm angle as its what I have and I want it to be nice and stiff which is partly causing the issue. Should I make this sharp or am I overthinking it?
