ive just found out that theres supposed to be a gap between shear/guilitine blades that you have to vary depending on thickness of material you cut.
it seems to be about 10% of the thickness of the material you intend to cut
i only have one of these

so i set the gap to 0.1mm for 1mm sheet steel which is all i ever use and it cut beautifully.
before i knew this i had the blades touching! which i now know i shouldn't have
i thought i would mention it as i didnt know about it and there was nothing in the user manual about a shear gap either
