Dear All
I am trying to weld 6 mm rebar to do a trellis for plants to climb on. I do have some success with Oerlikon special 2.5 mm at 80 amps but it is pretty difficult. Going down to 2 mm Lincoln Universalis makes it completely dreadful especially as the low viscosity flux runs of the sides on a but weld.
regrettably i do not have any 2.5 mm fincord which i guess should be ideal - but lots of different type rods in 3.2 mm(tenacito, supercito, various 6013(my local welding shop was very friendly and litterally filled my trunk with welding rods/flux-core wire etc(~ 100 kg!!)).
I have not tried any 3.2 mm as i though they would be too large.
Any pointers on where to start ?
Regards
Andreas
