Hello chaps.
This is obviously nowt to do with me but it needs sharing. I've had a delivery to Falkirk today and once again I've seen the Kelpies. I had a look on Google and found all the stats for them but in truth, you have to see them to truly appreciate them. 30 metres tall and 300-odd tons is impressive enough but the size of them when first viewed heading east on the motorway is beyond awesome.
By coincidence, I was in Kent yesterday and saw "The Cob", another horse statue on a roundabout in Belvedere near where I was delivering. Built by the same man as the Kelpies, Andy Scott, this one is 6 metres high and looks stunning as you come up to the roundabout. Due to the weight of traffic, the antics of cyclists, Boris Johnson and the general attitude of the self-proclaimed centre of the universe that is London, I admit to having very little time for our capital city, but when I see statues like The Cob, it makes the journey a touch better. As a result of seeing these, I intend to get my finger out and fab a bracket to mount my digital camera on the dash of the wagon. There's some stunning images just waiting to be captured!
Sorry I can't do a link, but google them and have a look. Absolutely stunning.
