a lot of the time its plastic damage, in that the car drives down the side of you its plastic bumper in contact with your paint and friction melts it onto your car ive polished a few like thatMy Zafira got scraped by some poxy smart car in Tesco's car park all the way down one side (he she drove off) ****!
Anyway my old neighbor owns a body shop and came round to give me a quote for the work and said "that'll polish out" I didn't believe him but took it down anyway. He got his polishing gear out and 15 minutes later I couldn't see the damage!
Amazing .
He used some thinners to wipe it down then some polishing paste with a mop on a proper machine like a slow 9" grinder.
If you try this don't go too mad and don't get it hot!
you was lucky some stretch the steel and put a nasty line in the panel, my mate parked is Toyota aygo in asda's car park it was straight in the bay when he left it when he came out it had nearly turned 90 degree's completely smashed in at one side nothing on the cctv no one saw it, his insurance repaired it as it was only a few months old at the timeThat's what it was, I could have sworn it was dented though.
I used to have to mechanically polish whole cars, lucky it wasnt too often because the salesmen thought it took too long.My Zafira got scraped by some poxy smart car in Tesco's car park all the way down one side (he she drove off) ****!
