It’s a bargain for what it is.They call me arfa in the offices, arfa day and arfa job :P
Off the top of my head the torch JLG wants is around the £100 mark all in but thats without the fittings requested so I'll need to get an exact price
Yeah they are pretty flexible hood. I’d say an overbraided silicon or latex material on those as well.@Richard.
How did the Parweld hoses on the torch I sent down compare to others?
So there that goodIt’s a bargain for what it is.
Those hoses are crazy flexible and light. I dunno what they are made of but they are every bit as flexible as a £230 ck torch.
I have one jlg in the format of a wp24w. Trust me when I say if it was rubbish I wouldn’t be telling you to get one.
My esab 17 has a nice handle on itYeah they are pretty flexible hood. I’d say an overbraided silicon or latex material on those as well.
The power cable on those was quite tightly rapped in that red hose which ridged it up a bit but it didn’t effect water flow at my end as you saw. The only thing about those parweld torches I’m not overly keen on is the euro ergonomic handles. I know you love em mate which is good but for me it’s not a thing I’d specifically choose. Saying that it’s one of the better euro handles. The Kemppi is an awful box and don’t even get me started on those poxy fronius or lorch torches. I’d chose a parweld over those any day of the week.
This is not the same as your Esab it’s a round handleSo there that good
Is it a Euro style or round style? My esab 17 has a nice handle on it
Yeah I saw that but if I don't like it I'll swap the handles but I was wanting a round handle to tryThis is not the same as your Esab it’s a round handle
Yes they are good. £100 doesn’t buy much in the way of quality and these are good quality. Mine is my second one I sold the first with my rehm. Now obviously as you’ll see it’s a torch I use for extremely tight access so it doesn’t get any hammer really but I’ve put it through 130 amps on ac and it doesn’t break a sweat which is good for a torch this size. If your pockets were deep enough I’d always recommend weldtec first but not every body has got £300 to throw at a tig torch so for 100 quid it’s as good as it gets and I wouldn’t of bought a second one if it was rubbish.
It's a euro style but I wanted to try a round handle and if I can't get on with it I put the esab handle on itIs it a Euro style or round style?
If you like the Euro style then may be worth looking at the Parweld as well, think mine was around about the £100-120 mark.
You won’t. It’s not that straight forward. Two completely different torches and two completely different neck and head sizes Esab is wp17 and sr is wp20It's a euro style but I wanted to try a round handle and if I can't get on with it I put the esab handle on it
I'll just have to try it and see if I like it if not I'm job have to get used to itYou won’t. It’s not that straight forward. Two completely different torches and two completely different neck and head sizes Esab is wp17 and sr is wp20
I doubt very much the Esab handle will just go onto a wp20 neck and cable.
It's a euro style but I wanted to try a round handle and if I can't get on with it I put the esab handle on it
Thanks for that but for now I think I'll stick with the binzelYou could try one of these and save a bit of cash, I replaced the monster 26 my r-tech came with the 17 and not felt the need for anything else yet.

Yeah there are lots of them about. The parwelds are one of the better ones like I say. The problem is these manufacturers think we want a torch with everything on it. Some might but most don’t. Fronius torches have a twin paddle button arrangement for adjusting current and switching between menus and jobs. It doesn’t even work like a button it’s a push forward pull back abortion of an arrangement. The lorch one has a built in digital display on there fancy option. With more bleeding buttons than the starship enterprise. Is this a good thing really. Not one I’d trade up for comfort personally.
The Kemppi chucked it all in a rectangular box then thought “what the hell let’s attach a set of plastic hooks on the handle too”.
I could live with the parweld. It’s not uncomfortable. The others I mentioned above use vinel hoses too in thick rubber sheaths. They are just awful. At least the parweld was made for welders and not geeks.
