Hope so. Do yourself a favour and chase it up before the start date because more often than not hearing nothing means it's still on the desk and they'll look at it (and invariably back it) the day you turn up. I find that an informal phone call is better than an email, if you email in a query they have to email back an official response.
If I had a quid for every set of R.A.M.S. I've had to review I'd be able to retire younger!
As has been said further up the thread, avoid generic R.A.M.S. as they are frowned upon by the HSE (amongst others) as they don't address hazards specific to each and every job.
If you're an employer or self-employed Risk Assessments are a legal requirement so need to be well written. Always have in the back of your mind that if it all goes to rat crap, you might be stood in a dock surrounded by bods in wigs and long black gowns only letting you answer "yes" or "no" to very specific questions which will leave you little or no wiggle room. Common sense does still exist, the trouble is it's got to battle with legal eagles and the 'where there's blame there's a claim' culture.
