Hello, I'm an Engineer with welding experience, but by no means a pro welder.
I've been wanting to buy myself a welder for a while, but I'm under a tight budget. I was lucky enough to win £100 on a scratchcard, and thought I'd treat myself to something.
I happened by my local JTF and saw a JUBA 130 Amp MIG welder for just under £100. I thought I'd give it a go, and if it's no good, I'll get a refund.
Well although the box stated 130AMP, it was actually only 120A.
The Machine cannot cope with anything other than tacking. The wire feed motor is powered by the power transformer, and as soon as you put it under any load, it judders, and wire feed is inconsistent.
The transformer in mine was rusty as hell. The earth clamp fell off of the cable after 10 mins.
I got a refund. now looking on ebay for a decent 2nd hand machine.
If you are new to welding and bought one of these, you could easily be put of trying to weld.
