As is typical, half way through a job today, my trusty old migatronic (which only this morning I was praising for having been so reliable all these years) spat it`s dummy.
Welding away quite happily, then a flash and a bang, some smoke and a flicker of flame inside. I now have a much reduced current and a lot of loud humming.
Quickly unplugged and disconnected everything, moved it outside and took the covers off. Plenty of smoke coming from it, but I couldnt tell from where, and can`t see any marks where the fire was.
So then, what do we all think has died, tranformer windings lost there insulation and shorted? Some thing else? Or shall I just resign it to the bin? Of course these things always happen when you have no money, grrrrrr
