For those people who are contemplating building a wooden shed I picked up a copy of the timber price list from Mole Valley Farmers today (open 7 days a week).
It says C16 timbers but it's always C24 when I go there (C24 is a better grade than C16).
They also do 225 x 75 x 6100mm for £34 including the VAT.
The timber can be half the price or more than your DIY sheds plus the lengths are longer so less waste.
I can get the timber about 10% cheaper if I buy it from the local timber importer but you can't self select and they prefer you to buy in volume.
Finally when you buy timber remember it's a natural product and the quality will vary in a pack, pick up a length and sight down it to check for shakes, dead knots, warp and twist.
It always amazes me when I go to a DIY shed and customers are picking up timber from the stack and putting it on their trolley without checking it, chances are that the timber on top is the stuff that has been rejected by the professionals because it's as bent as a banana!
