I bought my pressure washer back in '98 from a French hypermarket, I think it was about £35 (in Francs!) when you hardly saw 'domestic' units for sale over here. I forget the brand, something like EADS or ELSA, it's a nice red colour
Anyway, Nursy reported today that it wasn't cleaning the patio very well and seemed to be leaving an oily film on the water so I pulled it apart and sure enough it looks like the various piston seals are dying and it's losing lube oil into the outlet.
The pistons look to have some polished areas where they contact the seals but on the whole it looks like it could be salvaged if there was a service kit available... but a web rummage tells me there are 90 trillion pump units so I'm guessing it'll be a thankless task, unless anyone knows of a fantastic supplier/ website who can cross-refer anything to/from anything else?
The pistons look to be dead ringers for some Briggs & Scrappem ones I found on Evilbay (no sizes stated of course) but at £55 I think I'd be better putting the cash towards a whole new unit!
