Hello,
I am looking at buying a 240V 200AMP TIG welder. No thoughts on a make /model yet.
I am stuck on how to power the thing. I have a shared workshop with who knows what on the 240V single phase supply. ( I do know there are some freezers on it). I dont fancy drawing the 18A it says it'll need from this supply.
I do have a 20A per phase 3phase supply that has only me on it in use for my milling machine.
Question is can I get a single phase 240V 18A supply easily from my 3 phase supply?
The 3 phase is wired as 3 live plus seperate earth.
I'd go for a 3 phase TIG but the price seems to jump up a great deal and they seem to start at at 300A+ which I don't believe I'll ever need.
Apologies if this is not the right place to ask.
Many thanks in advance for advice.
Best Regards,
Simon
