Hi guys,i just bought a mindon 8005 gun but i dont know how to plug the hoses i dont know what every hose does.i also do not have any hopper with the machine, all i know it has fluidiswd bed
I tried to find the photos I had of mine but it looks like I deleted them.
From memory there are 2 air controls-
The hose from the one that runs continuously when it's turned on goes to the base of the stainless steel drum, that is for the fluidised bed.
The hose from the other air control goes to the gun and only operates when the trigger is pulled.
There is also the powder hose that goes to the fitting at the top of the drum.
Make sure you have the Earth lead connected to the work.
Once you have it all connected correctly it's a very good bit of kit.
Thank you for the info also i noticed that 1 hose its linked with the other unit....also i do not have a hopper for the unit and im trying to source one..any suggestion?and what about parts?can i still find any parts for them?thanks a lot
You won't get spare parts but so long as you don't break the casting of the gun everything else is repairable.
The stainless drum was sealed and had an air feed that entered in the bottom beneath a porous fibrous plate, the powder sat on this and the air diffusing through the plate fluidised the powder.
The powder pickup pipe had a metering valve where you could adjust the volume of powder, I can't remember whether the pipe picked up from the bottom or the top of the drum though.
The guys I sold my kit to were setting up a Jaguar restoration garage in the Hants area, I might still have a contact number for them on the receipt, I will check when I get time.
I noticed the tip of the gun its bent a bit and 1 wire from them 3 little wires that form toghether a triangle its broken but probably i can stick it back again.also im thinking to do a powder hopper whithout fluidized bed.is it a bad ideea?just something for air to go in and a outlet for powder hose like a pressure hopper?
The powder needs to be sucked up and not forced down the hose, you only want a drift of powder. If you can imagine a cloud of powder with the end of the pickup tube in the middle of it, that's want you want.
The powder is very fine so it's easy to achieve this, even a perforated pipe buried in the powder with the air supply feeding this will generate a fluidised bed, then have your pickup pipe a few inches above.
These are my hoses and airlines.i also though of give it a go with this food container as i do not have a stainless fluidised bed yet.any opinions on this container?will it be allright?thanks
It's such a small hopper I wouldn't bother with a pressure feed to it, that's looks about 1L, the stainless steel drum it's designed for must hold about 30 plus litres. If you put a pressure feed into that it would blow it across the room!
You would be better of with a plastic fermenting bucket and lid or one of those plastic drums with the sealable lids. http://www.wilko.com/homebrew-accessories+equipment/wilko-fermenting-bin-and-lid-25lt/invt/0022555
Ok and should i do a fluidised bed for it as well?and same principle like air inlet thru the pipe right down the bottom and powder to pick up from top or should i adapt a pump at the top?but if i put a pump at the top i do not have a aux air coming out from machine....i do not really know what principle the machine use so the powder will go up the hose.
Ok so the gun works so as the machine but 1 thing i dont get it...i have 4 air couplers.1 for air in 1 for powder 1 for fluidised bed and 1 left that i do not have a clue whats that for...no air comming out of that one....
You should have one male connector which is air in, then 3 female connectors, air to gun, air to fluidised bed, and air for an air duster/blow gun or to daisy chain onto another unit.
