Hi all another newbie to the forum. Welding is a skill I always promised myself that I would learn and now have the time and the projects to start, but which welder. I will mainly be doing car bodywork restoring my sons Spitfire, but I am sure that it will lead elsewhere. I thought about buying a Sealey 150 amp or the Clarke 150 but when I look at the specs I hesitate, I have always been brought up to buy the best tools you can afford as that way you only buy once and are not disappointed, so I now keep looking at the Portamig 185. The two things that I like are the low amps and the fact that you get a 3 metre torch, handy when hunched up in a car. Can you get longer torches for the other two welders. Thanks Keith. As you can see from my user name my car dosen't like welders.
