I am attempting to repair multiple laptop keyboards all with a similar design fault.
Around the edge of the plastic there is a very thin flange that has a tendancy to snap off.
As an end result it is a very tight fit as the flange actually sits on the body of the laptop meaning it has to be the perfect thickness.
So i am currently exploring options on a suitable solution.
I have used plastic fillers but with the amount of space they are very hard to sand smooth without it breaking off. I am currently awaiting a 3D pen with a welding function in which i plan to try to weld new plastic to itself.
I have also found another keyboard in which a repair has already been done to it and it is very close to being good enough (pics included) does anyone know what may have been used?
Any ideas on the best way to approach this? this isnt just one, its thousands so i must be able to continuously reproduce good results.
