So, after reading what must be 90% of the threads on this forum regarding the parweld 161c/171c and the clarke 150/151/160TE I'm stuck.....
Basically I have an old 90amp gas less MIG that I picked up for free and while it's been OK for a number of jobs, I've reached it's limits.
I need a welder that'll do car bodywork thin stuff but also something that'll comfortably weld 3/4mm metal as well (5mm maybe tops). (I've got a DIY off road buggy project on the go as well so ideally need something with a reasonable duty cycle).
- I've narrowed it down to the Clarke 160TE for £346
- or the Parweld XTM161C which I can pick up for £367
Is there much difference between the quality of the two welders? I'm really stretching my budget as it is, so really don't want to go any higher then this. Is the 161C worth the extra?
I can't seem to find as much info on the 161C.......
Any pointers would be very greatly appreciated....
Thanks!
