Hi,
I am a newbie to this welding lark and would appreciate some advice on my PARWELD Torch.
I have a 140 amp welder and have replaced the old torch with a PARWELD one.
I purchased the Torch via e bay, (don't all shout at once), believing that it was suitable for my welder. However, on looking at the Torch, it looks as though it is the Tweco style one, with the switch with copper strip contact points, a copper nozzle and copper Contact Tips in sizes of 1.4 and 1.6mm. I now wonder if it is suitable for my Hobby welder.
Can anyone please advise as to the differences between the BERNARD, BINZEL and TWECO torches. Also, as my Torch has the wire wound steel torch liner will it still be suitable for the smaller sized 8mm wire? The Contact tips with the torch are approx 3.6 CM in length, including the threaded portion. but, as my older tips are considerable shorter, can they still be used with the new Parweld torch with its longer copper nozzle. Finally, should the Contact Tips protrude out of the nozzle, and if so, by how much?
Thanks
