Most people will be aware of the new guidance from the hse on welding fumes e.g. this thread: https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/welding-fumes-latest.88497/
Anyhow, we do a little welding - mig, and increasingly tig as part of our own business, but not much, however often it will be stainless steel 410/416/316. So is a higher risk than mild steel. (aluminium somewhat less frequently)
We have added the papr feed to our existing Lincoln 3350s, but don't yet have the actual fan/filters.(blower unit)
The Lincoln blower unit is very expensive, and as we will only use it say once a week for a few minutes, we are looking for cheaper versions - the esab papr blower is £300 - less than half the price of the Lincoln.
Obviously there is likely to be a compatibility issue with the hose connection, but we can easily make an adapter if needed.
But - has anyone found suitable blower units suitable for welding at a reasonable price?
£300 is still a lot of money for a fan in a box with a battery and filter!
There are some (looks like rubbish) versions on ebay for normal papr for ~£60 surely there ought to be something around mid-range that would be ok!
