Hello everyone,
I'm new to mig welding, done a bit of stick and gas welding in my college years (a long time ago) and now I want to get welding so that I can customise bikes.
I've heard that it's not worth buying a cheap welder so I've done a bit of research, saved a few quid and convinvced a friend to go halfs with me.
I would like to use the welder to do some simple motorbike framework (brakets and seat sub-frame) as well as fine bodywork (the occasional car repairs and motorbike petrol tank & mudgard fabrication). All for fun, not profit.
In our budget, I'm thinking about an Oxford Migmaker 200 or a Portamig 215. The Portamig looks to be good for fine work by going down to 15A but the Oxford comes across as a solid and reliable machine. are these facts correct?
Can anybody help with the decision or suggest an alternative.
Thanks in advance.
