Hi guys I've been looking at a few welders as my previous post I think I am going to invest into a bigger machine. Just for background info I only have single phase I do have 16mm swa cabble feeding my consumer unit in workshop about 60m run from esb box and have a dedicated 32amp supply for welder (currently have 250amp sip hg3000). The two welders I'm looking at are the oxford 410 amp and the portamig 400 amp machine. Looking at the supply plate the oxford needs 32/45 amp supply and the portamig needs 45/65 amp. My question is why is there such a big difference in imput current for same output and does anyone have any experience of these machines.
