Going to show my ignorance massively now... I got very little tooling with my L5A, a single brazed left hand turning tool to be exact.
Have been given a couple of HSS tools of varying sizes but nothing comprehensive. Have just bought a boring bar set from RDG containing four indexable bars, two take ccmt06 two take ccmt09.
Now I'm after some decent turning tools, and wish to try and stick with ccmt06 or 09 tips - to save having loads of different ones.
I don't get the tip height though - perhaps my lathe has not got the original tool post, but to get my 12mm lh carbide tool on centre I have to sit it atop another 12mm blank and then a bit of hacksaw blade for a handy shim.
I'm not interested in a quick change set up but need advice what tip height I should go for..
