I guess it's better to stand up and take what's coming lol..
I've just gone from an ESAB dc tig to a parweld AC/DC tig..
I must say I haven't been very impressed with the quality of work I was producing..
No excuse but the instruction books don't help much.. I only weld occasionally but I keep thinking back to forum vids and Tubeyou ones as well and always remembered hearing the gas coming in post arc.. I thought, I'm never hearing that! So I upped the gas a bit but no, nothing changed, got the gas leak can on all the joints and no nothing leaking.. Bedtime reading last night I picked up the torch booket which came with the kit and looking at the gas lens setup which I nearly always use I realised there was a part missing... a Gasket or collar as per the picture below..
As I say my stupid error but I'd just assembled the torch as per my ESAB not having any idea you needed to add a second gasket..
Why can't the manufacturer print in decent letters on the booklets ADDITIONAL GASKET REQ WHEN USING GAS LENS..
Guess what, totally different bit of kit to use now..
I'd never make a gas engineer!....
Live and learn... eh!
