Hi folks,
Having only used gas in the past, a while ago I thought I would celebrate my 60th birthday by having a go at a bit of electric welding. At the time a friend let me try his expensive 3 phase MIG - a brilliant machine for his commercial use, but a little over the top for my needs. Stick welding seemed much more fun and practical too, as up to now I have had to do all my welding outside (my wife is very understanding, but not to the point of me welding broken machinery on the kitchen table).
A couple of years on and the fascination with arc welding continues, it's truly incredible what a little box of electronics with a 13 amp plug at the end of a single phase lead can do.
Now I am tempted to have a play with TIG too, but my knowledge of it is very limited and I don't know anyone who is experienced to show me, so I thought I would sign up on this forum and try and start learning a little more.
