Like most on here, I knock up various welding tables along the way, and also use good trestles, but working away in the wilds recently I got meself one of the above.
I was suprised how useful it is, it makes light fabrication much more efficient-I was knocking out loads of frames and brackets in m/s sq tube- and being able to square em up to the tables edges and clamp em down kept everything sq and in the right plane.
The surface coating on the table seems to be anti spatter, which was well handy, in fact a very useful feature, and I now give the top a coat of anti spatter to make it more effective.
Adjustable height was another top feature, tilt feature I hardly made use of but its handy to have.
Mine now sits on a wheeled base which allows for tool storage beneath the table.
If time permits, something similar could have been fabbed up using an old workmate base, but the old workmate base was pressed into service for cutting stock.
Having the ready made Nomad, I got stuck in from the off with no down time on setting up a welding station, so it was worth the money for me.
