Hello all,
Richard from s-w France here,
great friendly looking forum.
I've read a few posts here and there and on the web, would just like to finalise a few questions
I arc weld with a monster cheapo arc welder but i can get down to rods 1.6mm and do some good stuff on steel tube, pipe, but it blows a hole now and again
I'm working on honda monkey's frames and motors (aluminium) with the arc i can now use alu rods which is cool (haven't done much) it's pretty cheap and ok if the frame or tube is not too thin
Built a motor stand with the stick welder and pretty happy
Wanted to go mig and do beautiful welds on thinner stuff
It seems for me a clarke pro 90 or some european equivalent would do me.
I don't get all the stuff about the bottle tho', does it come all together, do you have to take out rental elsewhere, is it worth buying an old used bottle and getting a refill
I usually like to weld up stuff like a motor stand so I've say 10-15 welds about 5-10 cms long, lots of small projects, takes me say 30 minutes to do a job, but the actual welding time is probably around 15 minutes in 3 minute bursts,
If I could narrow down the choice for a machine + bottle and fix up a budget that would be good, quality at the right price, must be under 500euros or i'll just stay with my stick welder,
Thanks for your help
Richard
