I dont know if this is the correct place to post, if not please move.
I want to weld, but I want to avoid using gas.
my dad is a welder, but only uses gas, so I cant really ask him about anything else.
My dad will buy a gas mig, in the future, for him and for me to learn on.
I however, then want a gasless mig. from what Ive read, this is a hot welder, and can not do thin welding. (artsy welding)
for this I was told stick welding would be better. however, I have no idea what stick welding is. someone hinted it was welding without gas? and using sticks. thats as much as I know, or dont.
it says on forum description, that stick welding is also known as arc welding, but tig is also for of arc welding, but tig is not stick welding? tig uses gas.
I just thought, stick welding was welding with a tig welder but not using any gas. im really confused.
can someone explain in simple english, I cant understand the explinations.
