New victor torch set

Managed to pick up a victor performer torch set in the U.S. for a great price but it appears that the oxygen regulator has a female thread rather than the male connection with the domed end.

Is there a domed adapter with a male thread to convert the existing female thread ?

Victor technologies in the uk will have either interchangeable connections or a link adaptor for it.

The fittings on a victor torch are also usually smaller than our normal European torches

Victor dont stock them and supposedly cant get them ?!? - not sure if a Co2 reg to Argon adapter may work ?

No, use English regs, or American hoses with the American regs...

I got new regs and hoses etc with the kit, the acetylene reg has the domed end and screw thread whereas the oxygen reg is a female connection.

My other set had both regs with the male domed connectors and my oxygen tank is a female output so I need to convert the oxygen Reg to the domed end.

Ah, right so... Co2 adapter should take care of it then

Be cautious mixing CO2 fittings in with other gas fittings, CO2 is much lower pressure and the fittings are not normally rated for high pressure.

All sorted, inspected all the fittings on the regs and the output ports in all the regs were the same diameter hole.

It was only the brass threaded connectors on the regs that were different, so I removed the small one from the new reg which was about 14mm on both threads, and replaced the one on the old reg which was an 'increaser' 14-16mm approx.

All tightened up and no leaks so I'm good to go.

Saved about £200 bringing it back from the U.S. !
