please help me aaahhhhh ive just bought a new sealey supermig 180 but I carnt get it weld right how do people have theres set am I doint something wrong and obviouse ??. all built up new bottle of gas argon/co2 mix gas set at approx. 8 l/m fitted with 0.6 wire on the correct bead on the wire feeder . so I get a nice new clean piece of metal connect the earth gas on power set on 1 wire feed on 5 start welding and it doesn't want to weld correctly sorry not the best description ha ha it will weld but even on the lowest setting its like its putting to much amps in and gets the weld really hot with massive penetration and blows holes in it or does the opposite doesn't want to start welding poles up on top of the metal and spits loads . ive tried different wire speed , gas amounts and power settings and its having none of it also clamping on the earth with mole grips incase it was the earth clamp not up to it but no luck . I'm a mechanic do all the welding at work and have been welding for years with a sealey welder !!! with no issues so not new to it and I'm a very competent welder I just carnt seem to get this bloody thing set up to weld right so wondering if its not me ?
any ideas I'm stumpted
