guys should I bore holes in my sills for drainage?!
I am pretty reluctant to so as I just can't see why there would be water in there anyway, surely I will just let water in!
One trick is to drill drain holes and then insert a bar into the holes to shape them so water will not be picked up as the car is driven forwards. Maybe one hole at the back and one in front of anything that can act as a baffle would be OK, and park the car facing uphill.
The sills should be waterproofed on the inside with wax so water can't soak into the welded seams.
Water will find a way in, so the best thing is to make sure it doesn't stay in.
They are usually swaged where they attach to the lip of the inner sill to form drains in 3 or 4 places along the length of the sill. Shove a flat screwdriver through the slot to open them out and make sure they are clear.
