I've noticed that r-tech welding are bringing out a new range of tig welders on 5th of june. They have a model which is 160 amps, HF start and pulse mode for just £343 which sounds very cheap. http://www.r-techwelding.co.uk/welding_equipment/Tig_Welder
They also have an AC/DC model for £800
I notice the duty cycle is only 35% but I'm only a hobby user and seem to spend most of my time setting up and positioning and I seldom weld more than 2-3 inches at a time so would the short duty cycle be a problem?
I will most likley never use the MMA mode, any idea if using a 160a tig on a 13 amp plug would be OK?
