I've got an old series Land Rover and I'd like to do the chassis repairs myself (after lots of practice! ).
I've been reading this forum a fair bit and checking prices and it looks like the best unit for my budget would be the Clarke 151TE.
I'm not sure how much I'll end up using the welder, or how fast the gas runs out as I'm new to welding.
I was wondering if the 151TE can be converted to use full size gas bottles at a later date? or would it be better to get something like the 160TE which already takes full size bottles (can the 160TE also run with hobby bottles?).
My budget was £200 but it looks like I'll have to stretch it a bit to get the 150 amps for doing chassis work. Can't really go above £250 though.
Can anyone give me a shove in the right direction?
Thanks for any advice.
Cheers, Kev.
