Hi Guys,
I'm a reletive newby to Welding. I've borrowed a few machines over the years and guessed my way through it, and "joined metal together". so I bought a cheap mig welder a few months ago...along with an old car so its had allot of use. I'm still pretty clueless but want to up grade the welder so I can do some repairs on the chasis. I need a new machine as my current machine is not powerfull enough. What is the recommended strength needed in a mig welder to do m.o.t standard welds on the chasis 2-3 mm thick steel, and what is easiest machine to do this with. I understand its better with gas so I know I need that...but thats about it. I think I can spend 2-300 max, what would you recommend. Thankyou for the advice as there is so much out there. Jim
